Pain Killers falls in Back Pain

Why Painkillers Fail In Most Back Pain Cases?

Past Admins, 6 years ago

It is a fact that in chronic back pain cases, painkillers reduce the pain only temporarily. In most cases the pain is back once the effect of the medicine subsides. Published studies suggest that long term usage of painkillers tends to weaken the immune system. It’s also noticed that the effectiveness of pain killers reduces over time.

Back pain in most patients is a result of spinal disorders. Which in turn are caused by weaknesses and imbalances in spinal musculature. X-ray and MRI are static imaging methods that do not fully help diagnose the cause of back pain. 85% of all back pain cases are in fact labeled “non-specific” back pain.

Varun Arora, 37, was suffering from back pain for the last 5 years. He developed back pain due to long hours of sitting and driving. Initially, he opted for pain killers however; they gave him only temporary relief. He was not able to sit, stand and walk for more than 30 minutes. He had to stop his work-out routine as well. He visited an orthopaedic surgeon and was diagnosed with Disc Herniation at L4-L5. He was advised pain killers, injections, traction and bed rest. However, nothing seemed to give him lasting cure.

Varun’s surgeon then suggested that he meet doctors at QiSpine Clinic, a SpineSpecialist in India. 75% of the body’s weight is borne by muscles. To locate the cause of back pain, the spine muscles needed to be studied. At QiSpine Clinic, he underwent a spine function test, the DSA. Accurate diagnosis led to a non-invasive muscle regeneration treatment program, where the weaker muscles were specifically targeted.

Within a couple of weeks, he was no longer in pain. He was relieved of the restrictions and curbs he had imposed upon himself. His painkillers have stopped completely.
