From Limping to Conquering the Mountains, Ritu’s journey of recovery at QI Spine Clinic
Past Admins, 5 years ago
Ritu Aneja had been suffering from back pain for more than 6 years. However, it began giving her left leg pain in April 2018. The severity of the pain in her leg caused her to limp while walking, making almost all activities requiring her to stand or walk difficult.
Losing the ability to perform tasks of her daily routine had been a major setback for Ritu. Even actions like standing, walking, sitting, turning, and bending were difficult to attempt.
Her MRI showed multiple disc herniation causing increased pressure over the structures of the spine. The near-constant pain, intense discomfort, the loss of strength in her painful leg, and the difficulty in walking together signified a severe status of the condition and a possibility of progressive deterioration in the health of her spine.
She was advised surgery by the top Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Her visit to many orthopaedic surgeons and spine surgeons led her to the same suggestion of treatment. She was prescribed surgery by all of them owing to the deteriorating muscle strength, intense pain, and the difficulty in performing activities of daily living.
From door-steps of surgery to peaks of mountains
Post-treatment results came quite positive. The same patient who found it difficult to endure her routine went for her passion- trekking and is now planning for another one.
